Bangkok, 24 July 2025 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is concluding a technical familiarisation trip for its overseas marketing teams, offering a first look at the upcoming Blue Jasmine Luxury Rail Journey. Running from 22 to 24 July 2025, the programme brings together 39 representatives from TAT’s Europe and the Americas offices following the organisation’s Annual Plan Meeting in Bangkok.
Led by Mrs. Chiravadee Khunsub, Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas, alongside Mrs. Malinee Nitikasetsunthorn, Executive Director for the Americas, Middle East, and Africa Region, and Ms. Suladda Sarutilavan, Executive Director for the Europe Region, the delegation was warmly welcomed by the DTH Travel team, including CEO Mr. Stephan Roemer and Mr. Stefan Bruns, General Manager of DTH Travel Thailand.
According to Mrs. Chiravadee, the three-day journey served as both a product immersion and a strategic exchange, offering participants a first-hand look at a new premium rail experience designed to support high-value tourism. It also fostered meaningful engagement with local operators, providing insights to shape future offerings for long-haul markets.
“This initiative aligns with TAT’s The New Thailand strategy to elevate quality tourism and foster deeper emotional connections through transformative travel. By empowering our international teams with authentic experiences, we aim to craft new narratives that showcase Thailand’s timeless charm and forward-looking potential,” said Mrs. Chiravadee.
The trial route, titled The Blue Jasmine: A Timeless Rail Journey Through Thailand, spotlighted three historic World Heritage cities – Ayutthaya, Uthai Thani, and Si Satchanalai in Sukhothai – and introduced participants to Thailand’s rich heritage through a series of curated cultural experiences.
Beginning at Bangkok’s iconic Hua Lamphong Station, the delegation travelled aboard the elegantly restored Blue Jasmine train, featuring private cabins, panoramic lounges, and locally inspired cuisine. Along the route, participants engaged in immersive activities including almsgiving by the Sakae Krang River, a visit to Wat Chantharam (Wat Tha Sung), home to the Crystal Sanctuary and the gold-adorned Prasat Thong Kham, and a traditional dance performance by the Yom River. The programme concluded with hands-on sessions in Sangkhalok ceramic making and Thai silk weaving—celebrating the country’s living heritage.
The trip previewed the upcoming Blue Jasmine Rail Journey, a nine-day itinerary scheduled for its inaugural run from 16 to 24 November 2025. Developed by DTH Travel, the route will connect five destinations—Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Uthai Thani, Sukhothai, and Chiang Mai—via a restored 1956 Japanese sleeper train. Additional journeys are planned throughout 2026, with departures in January, February, March, July, November, and December.
